MORE THAN 300 PEOPLE DIED AND AT LEAST 2,000 WERE INJURED

Under the regime of president Daniel Ortega, the Nicaraguan people have suffered numerous human rights abuses. The following list is composed by reports issued from the United Nations and various media outlets.  

According to Freedom House rankings in terms of Aggregate Freedom Scores, Nicaragua scores 32 out of 100. In comparison, the United States scores 86, neighboring Costa Rica scores 91. During the 2018 anti-Ortega protests, rights monitors reported the deaths of over 300 people, extrajudicial detentions, disappearances, and torture”.  Keep reading
